ODOC: An iPhone Dock with a Twist

via The Gadgeteer by Janet Cloninger on 3/23/12

The ODOC iPhone dock is another Kickstarter project.  The ODOC is made of aluminum, with glass inserts in the ends and stainless hardware.  This dock weighs 2.7 pounds, so it’s heavy enough to allow one-handed removal of the iPhone.  The ODOC accommodates most cases, and the cylinder acts as a passive amplifier for the iPhone’s built-in speaker.  The viewing angle is adjustable through 8, 17, 26, 35 and 44 degrees, simply by twisting the end of the dock.  The back has 2 USB ports and 1 shielded line-level audio output.  The ODOC will be available in three powder-coated finishes over the glass bead-blasted aluminum: clear, black, or white.  There are a few more slots in the “early bird special” pledge of $69 for a clear-coated ODOC.  Once those slots are filled, you’ll need to pledge $99 for a clear-coated dock or $119 for your choice of black or white.  Some pledge levels also have extra shipping costs.  The funding period ends May 13, 2012, and shipping is expected in August 2012, if funding is met.
