iPad at Work – Comes as Standard on This Year’s Cadillac XTS

Here’s an iPad at work role I’d not seen before. As Wired reports, it comes as standard on the 2013 Cadillac XTS.

The inclusion of the iPad is part of a larger launch strategy by Cadillac to reassert itself as the world leader in luxury, and part of that is getting owners familiar with the range of new technologies incorporated into its largest sedan.

One of the hot new technologies that Cadillac wants its customers to get comfortable and familiar with is their CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment system – and the iPad is set to play a key role in achieving that.

Each Apple tablet given to XTS owners will come preloaded with OnStar RemoteLink, MyCadillac and an app that simulates the CUE user experience, allowing owners to familiarize themselves with all the functionality of the new infotainment system from the comfort of their couch.

So I’ve never been in the market for a luxury car like a Caddy before, but I suppose soon this will become part of the standard list of questions at the dealership – warranty coverage, luxury bells & whistles, car safety ratings, and Oh Dear it comes with a Blackberry PlayBook – sorry no deal. :)
