Maggie, I didn't take time to read the whole story, but from actual experience, having my personal cells from AT&T and a MiFI device, and iPhone 3G and LTE MiFi from Verizon for work, Verizon's data network stinks. Verizon's 3G network is so over saturated, that one is lucky if they get download speeds of over 250 Kbs, and on top of that it drops out and this is when you are stationary. As for the Verizon LTE MiFi's, there better than 3G but about every 30 minutes of heavy use, they hang. Some times after a couple minutes, the connection will start up, other times it will not even if you power the device off and on.Sure AT&T doesn't have the coverage that Verizon does, but their data network is reliable. I rarely have connections just drop on me. When I do get over 1 Mbs on the 3G network, I get 2 - 3 times that on my AT&T MiFi. For reliable data connection, go with AT&T.
