Obama to cut soldiers health care benefits

via Sean Hannity Discussion by Miami_Marlins_fan on 2/28/12

Obama has decided to push for cuts to the medical benefits of active duty soldiers and retired veterans, as well as slashing retirement benefits. In addition to doing away with many services, he is sponsoring a plan to have soldiers pay a lot more for the benefits that they do get. The plan will force soldiers and veterans to pay up to 374 times more than what they currently pay for benefits, and could leave soldiers (who already don't make a lot of money) with thousands of dollars less in their pockets. Several congressional aides have said that the move is designed to make healthcare so costly for the military, that they will be forced to sign up for Obamacare state-run insurance exchanges, and that this is nothing more than a plan to increase participation in Obamacare.

Obama has decided not to implement the plan until 2013, because he doesn't want to risk upsetting soldiers and veterans during an election year. Unionized civilian defense workers will be exempted from the crippling changes. Only the military and the veterans will be made to suffer, while civilian workers on base (who belong to unions) will see no pain.
