Long slow night

3:05 AM EST, sitting here at my desk on the phone with my headset on mute, waiting for the next roll call for the MiChart interface partners. University of Michigan Health Systems is doing a major upgrade of their patient management and electronic medical records systems. I'm glad this doesn't happen very often as I never liked working third shift even all the years I was in law enforcement and did shift work. My favorite was the afternoon shift, as I don't care for staying up all night nor getting up early to an alarm clock. Over the past couple of days, I put things off so I would have things to keep me busy tonight/this morning, but now I'm starting to run out of things to do. I'm starting to look for "Make Work" to keep me awake and missing any roll calls.
